Would you like to experience the true spirit of Rio de Janeiro? On this motorcycle tour, we'll ride through the streets and viewpoints of the Rocinha or Vidigal favelas. To top off the experience, we'll record a drone video.
Tour Options
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at the meeting point you selected when booking, where you’ll hop on the back of a motorcycle taxi rear seat driven by local riders to begin this cultural immersion. Accompanied by a local guide who knows every corner, you will discover the essence of these neighborhoods beyond the stereotypes.
When booking, you can choose between exploring the Rocinha or Vidigal favela. Both options last 4 hours and include a roughly 30-second drone video. You’ll get a spectacular view of the favela with the ocean, mountains, and colorful rooftops as a backdrop.
Rocinha Tour
If you prefer to explore the Rocinha favela, we’ll head to Visual do Laboriaux, the highest point in the neighborhood, which offers spectacular views of Christ the Redeemer and Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.
Afterward, we’ll take you to one of the area’s most famous murals, which tells the story of the community since the 1930s through spectacular graffiti. From there, we’ll head to the Mureta da Dionéia viewpoint, a place that pays tribute to local motorcycle taxi drivers, a symbol of labor in Brazilian favelas.
Finally, we’ll visit the home of a community member to go up to their terrace and film the drone video from there.
Vidigal Tour
If you choose this option, we’ll start by visiting Vidigal’s most iconic spot, the Arvrão viewpoint. From here, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the beaches in Rio de Janeiro’s South Zone.
Next, we’ll pass by the iconic Nós do Morro theater and film school, while we tell you about the community projects offered in the neighborhood. We’ll also explore Beco das Artes, a space where colorful graffiti tells the story of the local community through art.
